Masked Booby being released
from recovery at
Seaside Seabird Sanctuary.
It had been found on beach nearby - far away from 'home'
These pictures show sequence:
release from container to going
out to open sea. Breeding grounds are the Dry Tortugas - islands south and east of Florida
the Seabird Sanctuary is
on a beach in Pinellas County
in central west Florida
(Tampa Bay area)
 

It quickly sensed where the ocean was and began running toward the waves!

It had to get past the waves in order to rest to have strenght for its journey back home
It continued to get past all the waves and settled in to continue drifting out to open sea - to eventually take off flying back to the Tortugas
