4.     The end justifies the means

5.     Any friend of yours is a friend of mine

6.     Without God, there can be no morality

7.     It’s a dog-eat-dog world

8.     Don’t tempt Fate

9.     Ignorance is bliss

10.  All men are selfish – or, It’s evil, because it’s selfish

11.  Judge not that ye not be judged

12.  Who am I to know?

13.  Don’t be so sure—nobody can be certain of anything

14.  This may be good in theory, but it doesn’t work in practice

15.  That was a rotten thing to do, but it’s only human—nobody is perfect in this world

16.  It may be true for you, but it’s not true for me

17.  It may have been true yesterday, but it’s not true today.

18.  I couldn’t help it! Nobody can help anything he does

19.  I can’t prove it but I feel that it’s true
