Million Times

A million times
we've needed you,
A million times we've
laughed and cried.
If love alone could've saved you,
You never would have died.
In life we loved you dearly, In death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a place, No one else will ever fill.
It broke our hearts to lose you, But you didn't go alone.
Part of us went with you, The day God took you home.

from obituary (omitting 'preceded in death by' and 'survived by'):

Robert enjoyed a long career working with computer systems and information technology. He retired in January, 2001, from Experian, where he worked as a Sr. Systems Analyst and project leader. His passions were home theater electronics, movies, cars, traveling, nature, music, Nascar racing, puzzles, patriotism, bridge, and, most important, family visits. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. He was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. Robert was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served in the late 1950's and early 1960's.
